The RAA has just signed up with Caltex for a membership rewards partnership enabling RAA members to fuel up at Caltex petrol stations and receive a 6c/L discount on petrol.
Boycott Caltex Australia is outraged to learn that RAA has chosen to partner with Caltex. Caltex is owned by the US coperation Cheveron, a company currently facing global boycotts for its complicity in “plausible” genocide and energy apartheid against Palestinians.
Boycott Caltex Australia urges RAA to act with integrity, divest from Caltex and demonstrate a commitment to justice and human rights.

Dear Mr. Nick Reade,
As a concerned South Australian and RAA member, I urge you to disaffiliate from your rewards partnership with Caltex. Caltex, owned by Chevron, directly funds Israel’s apartheid and genocide against Palestinians through gas extraction licenses. Chevron supplies 70% of Israel’s power and financially supports its military occupation and human rights abuses [Rome Statute of the ICC (1998), ICJ Rulings (Jan & July 2024)]. Since October 2023, Israel has killed over 50,000 Palestinians, with the actual toll likely far higher. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled Israel’s occupation illegal and called for the end of commercial activities enabling it [UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (2011)]. Businesses tied to Chevron are at risk — legally, financially, and reputationally. Caltex stations worldwide, including in Adelaide, face growing protests and boycotts. Historical precedent exists: During the anti-apartheid boycott of the 1980s, many Shell stations abandoned the brand rather than endure continued protests and liability. The RAA must now take the same ethical stance. As a trusted institution, RAA has a responsibility to uphold ethical business practices and align with corporate social responsibility standards. Continuing ties with Caltex contradicts these principles. I urge you and your board to act with integrity, divest from Caltex, and demonstrate a commitment to justice and human rights.
